Lots of people have good ideas, there are so many that some seasoned inventors refer to them as being worth a dime a dozen. Typically you have to fund some initial proof of concept or prototype creation so potential investors at least have something tangible to touch.
Some brave souls manage to write their own patents, typically though you would have to hire a patent attorney to help you protect your idea before you show it around to investors, you could try to get potential investors to sign some sort of nondisclosure notice without a patent, but since they are in the drivers seat that may be difficult.

Those really committed to an idea can find plenty of invention assistance services who will take thousands of dollars to help get a product started to market.
