That may not be the best revenue generating topic, you need to write about things people spend money on, teens for example don't shell out much for psychologists, To try to stick to a recognizable theme which might improve search ranking and traffic.
An example Blogger site with ads:
http://peakenergy.blogspot.com/2013/09/l...
Only 1 of the first 10 results for the Goggle search:
site:blogspot.com "losing friends
had ads, again such writers are probably less commercially motivated than others, some may realize they may never reach the 10,000 visitors in can take to reach the $100 min payout for Adsense.
The site would need to have perhaps 10+ quality original articles and some age before applying for Adsense, you would really have to treat it like a publishing business to get the readership to make any meaningful revenue.
Blogger.com or Tumblr would be your only real options -- both are basically taking the easy way out. If you ever want to be taken seriously, you have to own your own domain name and own your site content.
Third party blogging platforms force you to abide by their rules. If you do something they see as unfit, even if you believe you weren't doing anything wrong, they will terminate your account. It is simply bad business to put yourself in a situation where someone else has the ability to shut you down at any point. This is why owning your own site is so important.
A domain name only costs about $8.50/year - honestly, you must be able to afford this :) just spend a little less on lunch one day.
Both are good platforms, but WordPress will allow you eventually whenever you are ready to move to your own domain name and keeping all your data. Depending on the theme you are using you are able to keep that too.
Def choose Wordpress. You can monetize it by posting affiliate links.
I believe you can monetize your blog even if it is for free. Its just not easy to drive traffic without marketing.

I would like to start a blog, but I have no funds and therefore cannot buy my own domain. If I use a free blog creator such as Wordpress or Blogger, will there be any way to monetize my blog without buying my own domain? Also, should choose to use Wordpress or Blogger? My blog with hopefully focus on how to deal with changes such as moving, losing friends, et cetera as I've had my fair share of experiences in this area. Thank you ^.^
