Handmade by you, Craft supplies or Vintage goods

Actually, you're already doing one way of promoting it right here. Since it's an online shop, social media is a powerful (and free) tool you need to take advantage of. Create an official page for your store on top networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Invite your friends and family, and ask them to promote your links for you. In the old days, this was called 'word-of-mouth' advertising and it's effective. You can also create a blog at top sites like Wordpress. Keep in mind though, that online competition is tough so this is where social circles play a vital role.
You must know your target market (who you want as buyers) and how to reach out to them. For example: if I was selling liquor, I'd target cooking and food websites as well as blogs. If I wanted those outside of the Internet to know more about my business, I'd get help from an advertising firm I can afford like promomatting.com. They can make me bar mats with my company logo on it. If people in bars see my logo, they'll know my brand and search for me. For now, I suggest to use social media because you're just starting out.
How about posting it on some social media sites like Twitter and Facebook, tagging your friend and family. You'll never know someone might get interested with your for sale items. Paid promotion might be good too if you are up for it.
