For self done SEO I think you have a good page rank. If you want to improve on that, hire a good company with a cost effective solution. They offer great packages and are great with quality backlinks. They'll be able to get your site on the first page and quicker than any self done SEO technique out there. Time is money, so you'd be saving yourself a lot :)

Cheap,self done SEO can go a long way.Get a twitter page and have your back link to your site listed in it.Get a Facebook like group,and mention your website in everything you post,but also post other news related to your trade.Keep your baclink of your website listed in your Facebook group address.
These are just beginnings,and you have to follow them up with action ,daily posts,regular online checks for high page rank back links.

The biggest thing is realizing that it is a process.Our website,witch is not related to SEO,has been online for 3 years,and the first year we had no back links. Slowly I have begun to learn,mostly through mistakes.But we are on page of Yahoo,Bing,and Google.
But it is an ongoing system,and it needs to be worked on daily.

The site seems to do ok for my keywords (painting, Painters, house painting etc) on google, but on yahoo its like my webpage doesnt even exist. Whats frustrating is that yahoo hosts my website... PS, Ive been working on backlinks and directory submissions but its super slow going :( Havent really been able to find a quality backlink...
