But if this class is offered on Craigslist, I seriously doubt the class is a REAL certification class. You need to ask questions about the class, the certifications of the instructors, etc.
I've attended certification classes in a separate, unrelated field. In my opinion, it was a joke. My employer paid for the class. I knew more about my field than the class taught us. And it also gave us information on equipment that we in no way use, it covered little on what we did use. If I had to pay for the class, I would have demanded a refund.
Those are typical fake security job scams. It's not a job. It's a con to get you to pay for some useless certificate and you'll never get a job
A real employer would take any training fees out of your first paycheck, not make you pay them
The NY State Attorney General has issued warnings about these type of scams and has sued companies like this

If you are in NY inform the AG's office right away. If you are in another state inform your states AG office
It is not a job offer, what it is a way to get you to take their expensive test and then claim you can put their brand certification on your resume so you can go apply for loss prevention jobs. They are not offering a job but the potential to use their certification to get a job.
Now here is something for thought: how legit is their certification test if they have to scam people into the door to take it? Chances if a company is doing that, they aren't legit and you will get laughed out of any job interview if you put their certification on your resume.
This is NOT a job. NO reputable company would require you to pay for your own training. You pay them the money and then thats the last you hear of them and they won't respond to any of your message.
Scam, scam, scam !
Pretty expensive for 4 hours. I would ask what recognized certification , if any, you could already have to satisfy the requirement, if there's no alternative I would run.
At most I would only do unpaid training at the business.
If it's unbelievable that it's a scam.
it's a scam. there is no actual job, there is only you paying 200 bucks for training that means NOTHING.
100% Scam any objections
I think this is a scam so be aware this type of jobs.
Of course it is a scam.
I saw an add on Craigslist it was for a loss prevention position so I went and I interviewed everything seemed legit except they told me that I had to do a 4 hour class and I would have to pay 200 dollars that's what made it a little sketchy how do I know it's legit has anyone done something like this?
Scam. The job should be paying YOU not the other way round. There will be no job at the end of it.
i think it is totally a scam, be aware from it
200$ then what?
dont that give you a clue?
