Sometimes you have to sign for a package because the sender requires it. The post office will try to deliver it a time or two, then just keep it at the post office. If you have the notice, just go to the post office on the slip and pick it up. There is no need for a P.O. box.
You take the receipt that was left at your house, go to the post office and give it to them, and pick up your package.
Walk in to your post office ask the person behind the counter if there is a letter pr a package for you and tell them your name if they do mot know it.
Pretty much everyone answered already. I would only add that you should be sure to bring ID they will probably want to see that. Once you have that and your receipt the postal carrier left at your residence or business then you have pretty much all you need.
