You can come of some of freelance sites to be designer as your part time job. such as Elance.com Witmart.com. I'm a freelancer too, I participate several jobs on Elance, then I found Witmart. The good thing is they have a logo store, I can put my unuse logo for sell there.

Have a look on Elance (www.elance.com) - it's a site where freelancers can offer their services and bid for jobs.

You'll get an idea from that what is an industry standard amount to charge for logo design.

It might also be a good place to find other work too, as you can add your portfolio on there.

It depends on how well you think you are. Show the customer the portfolio of your work and if they think it looks professional charge more if not charge less. If you don't want to ask them, go on devintart and ask people in the comments.
