It's depends upon what kind of website you need. How many modules, features, time it's all depends. Whether the web site dynamic or static.
Same work is been done by many designer, but it depends on designer how much they charge. If you know you had done brilliant work and is liked by client. Then you must ask what is your charges?

ok so i created a website for someone including the design, start to finish.
it had about 6 pages.
i also included a google map widget on the site.
a contact us form.
along with a link to a paypal payment portal.
a facebook widget, and twitter.
Along with a rss blog feed widget.
I also designed their logo.
And created/designed a double sided business card and managed the press job side of it.
I also created a blog for them.
I designed their facebook page to match their website.
I created a yelp business account for them to start getting reviews.
and I did a few other random things.
but for the 11 things I did above, how much would you pay a designer to make those for you?
It took me about 7 days to do it all.
