To test the waters you could upload your designs to one of several print on demand services on your own 'store' they print and directly ship so you don't have to keep inventory, there are thousands of others doing the same thing, so you probably have to do some additional promotion with a facebook business page, perhaps a blog, images on pinterest, etc. Zazzle.com and cafePress.com are the best known of these, the prices which you help set are not the cheapest through these sites.
These guys do super cheap shirts imagemarket.com most of their line are more typical prices.
it would be near impossible for you to start a tea shirt business on a large scale and compete with all the other businesses out there at the moment, however on a small scale it could work for a one off design tea shirt or small ranges at higher cost to the public you will have to get good promotion for the product though
hope this helps
The same question bobs up several times a day on this site.
Start small and test the market...don't buy any equipment until you've done your research properly.
buy lots of T-shirt on whole sail and then sell them separately. you can also buy branded t-shirts from foreign countries like India or china and then sell it in the UK for higher price.
I did that, it folded
Hey everyone I've been thinking of starting my own t-shirt business for a while. Just something little from home its something i would expand if it did well.
I want to do my own designs for the t-shirts but want to know the best way to get them printed should i find a company who could do it for me or should i buy my own equipment or just stick with a printer and iron lol and any other advice you have on starting this business would be a big help thanks everyone :)
