Make it clear and to the point because you only have 1-2 seconds to get a searchers attention
As far as earning search engine ranking and attracting traffic, a vanity name might not be the best strategy, although using your own name might trump a company name in some cases, if the company trademark existed longer than your name, it may be a disadvantage to have that name that might be alleged to be exploiting their copyrighted name..
Having a descriptive name might make more sense for a blog, (if you were creating a business and sending money on a branding campaign a more abstract name might make sense.) Perhaps some adjective and Baking, BetterBakingTips, YumBaking.
More serious bloggers invest a big $12 a year for a custom domain name, which could be transferred to a paid hosting account if things got more serious, without losing links and search ranking to the address.
There are sites with tools that help you come up with fictitious names, including: wordlab.com, naming.net, wordoid.com, lingzini.com, namestation.com, some of these tools look up the domain name availability as you go.
If you find an available .com name, there's a high probably that it' not a trademarked name.

Hi! I want to make a website about food blogging. My main interest is baking.
My name is Sarah, but my middle name is Leah. When my parents where in the hospital they knew they wanted my name to be Sarah, but when a commercial about "Sarah Lee" cookies came on, they named me Sarah Leah; baking is in my blood and in my name.
I'm having a tough time trying to name my website, it can be anything clever but easy to find - very catchy.. If you can fit my name, "Sarah Leah" that will be great.
So, I have been doing some thinking and I think I want to name it either Sarah Leah Bakes or Sarah Bakes, what do you think? And which do you think is better and why?
Thank you soo much! I don't think I can thank you enough! :D
