FWIW, a guy in NY went to prison for offering to sell one for $160,000, having purchased it for $10,000, in 2009.
42 USC 274e (a) [prohibiting purchase of human organs for transplantation], (b) "Any person who violates subsection (a) of this section shall be fined not more than $50,000 or imprisoned not more than five years, or both."
