I was approached to model...does this sound legitimate?

It's Legit - because he DID say you'd need to bring a parent with you. If it was a sketchy photographer, the last thing he wants is your parents. Ask what your compensation is for modeling for his photoshoots. Usually they just give you a CD of the photos they've taken, so that you can add it to your modeling portfolio. For more professional photographers, they will compensate you with cash, but that only really happens if you're a professional model too.

Have your parents look up his website and set up a call with him. Before you go anywhere have your parents go to his studio and look at his portfolio to verify he is a legitimate photographer and you are not just going to some dingy apartment

I would be cautious, but the fact that he (not you) first mentioned bringing your parents along makes me lean toward thinking he's legit.

Now, if his email is @hotmail.com or @yahoo.com, instead of his business, that's a red flag.

Also, if your under 18, the law has declared that any topless or nude photography of you is child-porn. FYI.

The fact that he's giving you his info & saying to bring a parent , in my opinion , seems legit . I say go for it but for sure bring your parent , lol . Good luck !(:

If you need to bring a parent then it should be real, but if you don't trust it don't do it.

Today I was in a restaurant with my brother and a 30-ish year old man at another table came up to me and asked me if I had ever considered modeling before. I told him not really and he said he was a freelance photographer looking to expand his portfolio and he gave me his name and email address if I was interested in seeing his work or if I had any questions. Because I am under 18, he said I would need to bring a parent with me to the shoot. Does this sound legitimate, or does it sound like a sketchy predator kind of scam?
