Hello,
I can tell you NCSA is NOT a scam and is VERY real!! My son would not have the amount or quality of coaches views without NCSA. I am sure I will not be able to put all the incredible services NCSA has done for my son and us here but I will try.
The first; thing is their communication out to schools. NCSA matches the athlete's requirements with the requirements of the school (both academically and athletically) and sends e-mails out to all the colleges in the student/athlete's chosen area. NCSA sends my son's profile out to over 280 colleges that match his preferences and the colleges requirements. Also, NCSA gives an unbelievably easy access to send e-mails to schools and coaches that match your preferences and the school's preferences. Your ability to communicate with schools and coaches are incredibly easy!!!!
Second; NCSA gives the student/athlete and their parents access to an incredible number of colleges, right at their fingertips. You can view the academics, the athletics, the coaches, etc... right from NCSA and if you need more, they have a direct link from the NCSA profile to the college's website. NCSA REALLY gets your name out there!!!!!!
Third; NCSA has many, many coaching clinics you can dial into and receive incredible recruiting advice from... from how to speak to coaches and questions to ask to actual position coaching.
Fourth; The student/athlete and the parents can view colleges positional needs. You will actually be able to see what coaches are actively recruiting for.
I could seriously go on and on about how incredible NCSA is so I will stop here but the not before I tell you the best part of NCSA... their people!!!! I cannot even begin to tell you how incredible their people are!! My son's recruiting coach has had to deal with all my questions and they do it with an incredible positive attitude. And no matter who we speak to at NCSA, everyone seems like we are the only or most important person/family they are talking to. They all take an active interest in the family and the student athlete!! I cannot say enough about NCSA's people!!!!! They truly love their job!!!
Again, I could go on and on about NCSA!!! I will also tell you... I am not being paid to say any of this. Our whole family has been incredibly impressed with everything NCSA does for us and I feel priviliged they asked us to write back to you!!!!
I like you was uncertain on the value and validity. After going through the interview process and making a decision to try NCSA it was a developing decision for our daughter. It was incumbent upon her to her to follow-up, reach out and inquire. The great thing about NCSA is they put you in position for the school your young adult belongs. At first our daughter was timid about reaching out. I realized that and made mandatory one hour college meetings to discuss what she has done to follow-up, reach out, and view her top 10, including and most important we role played I as the coach her as the athlete and vice versa. This turned her into a confident and personable candidate.that asked questions of substance not easy placating lay-ups. If you are the type of parent that needs to be the prime focus, look elsewhere. College coaches do not want to talk to parents they want to know the athlete is sincere about being an athlete at your there institution and are worth the investment. My daughter is 5'9 OH in vball and our family is only spending about $15k a year at a $40K annual private university. She is going to the school of her dreams where she gets to work on her major from day one while playing vball. I hope this helps you understand the validity of NCSA. i welcome any additional questions. .
My son learned about NCSA at an Under Armour football combine.. we did a package with them and I paid about 100$/month for about a year.. I CANNOT stress the amount of knowledge gained by using them. My son had a live profile with NCSA and he could see for himself as coaches were viewing his profile and how often.. he then could reach out to any coaches that he was interested in.. Aside from his profile and coaches having access to it.. we sat in on various phone web sessions and learned how to properly introduce ourselves to coaches via email and the phone.. what sort of info was crucial to grad a coach's attention in those emails/calls.. I learned as a parent the ins and outs of FAFSA financial aid information and when to do such paperwork..all the NCAA rules and regulations, contact and dead period info and numerous other tidbits that are crucial to getting recruited. It's important to get a REAL evaluation from someone on your athletic ability (most kids wanna go DI.. but really.. is that the right fit for you..? they can provide resources so that you can make the best choice for YOU!) Not a scam.. love their services.. it's info that my children's school could never provide and what little info they did provide to us was always late..months past when everyone else was doing such work(financial aid, etc).. I say it's worth an investment if you are serious about you or your child playing at the next level.. My son was a mediocre student and he was limited academically to select a junior college.. but I'm 100% positive that the info we learned and used got him to a top 10 junior college in the nation!!! I further used my knowledge to help my daughter get recruited at the DI level.. she's set to attend the Univ of Minn on a FULL RIDE track/field scholarship this fall 2013!! Best of luck to you in your recruiting process!!
My name is Ryan Wells, and I am VP of Marketing for NCSA. Thank you for taking the time to meet with one of our national scouts. It is great to see you are doing your research. There is a parent's forum in Facebook you should check out: https://www.facebook.com/groups/ParentsC... The forum is for parents and by parents, and gives you the opportunity to ask questions and engage with real families about the recruiting process. If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact me: rwells@ncsasports.org. Good luck!
NCSA is total garbage. The so called "scouts" are salespeople who sell the product to anyone, for they have to meet a quota. When I wished to cancel my account the same day I signed up, my "scout" emailed me bassically saying my $800 would be the difference between playing college in hockey or not. Says the guy who played club at his local college. Never fall for this trap. The go for your emotions and get you to pay at the very very end.
I had an interview call today and I wanted to do some research before I decided to make any decisions. I want peoples reviews and opinions. I have seen reviews good (But they look sketchy like someone paid them to say that) and the rest I have seen are not the best. I want to know if it actually helps you and gets your name out there or if its just not real or if it doesnt do much at all.
