Ebay is not a bad way to make extra money, but they have raised their fees recently. If you accept paypal, they also have higher fees. It's now almost 20% of the total amount you receive.
Shipping costs have skyrocketed, which prevents a lot of bidders from bidding because of that.
Ebay also has "buyer protection", which is so bad for sellers, it's obnoxious. A Buyer can receive an item, change his mind or not like it and file a claim against you. Ebay will almost always rule in their favor and return the money from your account, including shipping. That will cost you the item and the shipping cost.
They have no protection for sellers. So, if you list items, you take the chance that you will get one of those bad buyers who will complain. I've sold stuff for over 10 years and am now starting to limit my listings because of the fees.

The way I do it is very easy, I list products from amazon at a higher price on ebay and the customer is happy when they receive their item, not one negative feedback as it posted from amazon in a plain brown box without the price etc. I do not physically ship or handle the items myself. Many power sellers have been doing this for years although you'll get people telling you it cant be done and it's against policies etc! Trust me it worked for me! Watch this video if you don't believe me. I made my first sale in 2days doing this then every day I got sales the more items I listed.?

It really depends on your product and the cost of it. I've sold plenty of items on eBay just this past month.
