Now as the Penguin update has been introduced do not stick with previous recommendations about keyword density. Previously it was safe enough to keep your keyword density between 3 to 5% but now you have to make sure it should not be more than 3% at all.
The term search keyword is often used as well for multi-word phrases, the same guidelines apply. At one time when the search spiders were more naive, you could "Stuff" a page with a target keyword, perhaps with bold underlining to further indicate the importance, such unnatural use of keywords is now detected and will harm the search ranking of the page. Google does not publish any keyword density guidelines, the various figures published are guesses on the part of SEO "experts"
On page SEO is certainly a factor, but just writing for your visitors, including a target keyword in a few different parts of the page may now be the best tactic. Google patents mention terms like "Latent Symantec Indexing" which can recognize the topic of a text by the overall content as well as by individual keywords, old practices of inserting paid keyword anchor text links in an unrelated article are not as effective as they once were.
Including a keyword in the meta title, page title, header text, image file names and alt text as well as internal menu anchor text may all help keyword ranking when used in moderation.
Don't let keyword density deter you.
Simply write the content of you website as you would naturally.
Infact think of it as a book and your writing a page on one particular topic.
Write it as it comes to you very naturally and the keywords will naturally fall into place and make sense to the reader.
Websites are for people and Google is ever shifting more to this as much as possible, so don't be alarmed about phrases like keyword density etc simply focus on natural transition of sentence to sentence.
Yeah they are pretty much the same and the same rule apply to both. The keyword density is usally safe when it is between 3-5%.
It should not exceed more than 2%. Do not overoptimize your site. Penguin has slapped many sites recently.
I heard the term"keyword density" but is there " keyword phrase density"? and id it important for seo?
