SEO search engine question?

Posted at: 2015-03-04
The easiest for a brick and mortor (a physical) business to get onto the forst page for searches by locals is to have a free Google Places (map) page.

if one searches barber, their city results will include up to 7 with stick-pin icons perhaps labeled A-G, these are places pages. The ranking of the main business site appears to influence the places page ranking.

You have to increase your internet presence in order to get your name to the top of the Google page. Keywords and mega-tags are a great start! Now create a social media site for your business. On your website put links to all of you social media site, and vise versa.

Create interactive ways for you current customers to be involved on your social media or website...aka the more "clicks" you get, or the ideal goal is for some one else to post your link on their page, which makes you rise in the ranks amongst your competitors.

Get a Facebook, and do a Wacky Wednesday and show a funny video, or have a content where the person who submits the best (drawling of a cat? it can be whatever you want) gets a gift card, discount, special offer....Also this could attract new customer from your customers social media friends, or even word of mouth. The more interactive you are on the internet with your customers, the higher your internet presence increases, the more links you share connecting all of your data, and post on all of the sites, also increases you presence, and the more you will rise to the top of the search engines.

Another way is to get your website optimized properly. First page ranking is achievable. It all depends on how you optimize your page, and using the right keywords and keyword phrases.

Google's algo has really screwed up local businesses, as you can probably tell by looking at your own listings. Are you still having to rank against national competition? If so, you're going to have to get more links to rank, even though it's a local business and keyword. Check out this seminar on local business ranking on YT. It's about a 90 minutes long, so grab a Coke:

You can get it through the local SEO

I designed a website and created meta-tags and keywords, I have submitted the URL to Google, Yahoo, Bing and created a Sitemap plus a robots.txt file which was tested.

With over 30 competitors in my city, what are the real chances that this website will make it to the first page on Google?

What else can I do to make that happen or is it even possible?

Thank you!
