Should I accept a job cold calling?

as long as you feel the pay is decent, go with it gain the experiance, tough job, make the best of it, best of luck.

It should be a character building experience, and the closest most people get to door to door sales, which was common in the "Avon calling" days. The rejection and insults from people you are interrupting can be soul crushing for some, if you excel at it, you would want a + commission job.

Some companies ignore the federal no call list, you could be violating the law, might be worrisome if using your own phone, the government charges $60 per zip code for copies of the list of phone numbers requesting to not be called by solicitors. (If concerned about ethics, ask you employers about the Don't Call List)

I know that feeling when you're trying to put something down on a resume, been there. I would say if you are truly unable to find anything else, its worth a shot. You mentioned marketing. Is there a specific area of marketing you're interested in? Blogging, advertising, etc?

I'll tell you now what your callers will be telling you soon. "Get a real job!"

It's the truth. It sucks. It's miserable and it's no way to live your life. Fast food would be better and that's saying something.

Would it be worth it to accept a job that involves cold calling? The pay is decent, but it's not really something I want to do...but I don't have any experience to put on my resume for marketing. Help?
