A lot of people will emphasis the importance of choosing something you are interested in or know a lot about. While this approach does have merit I’m going to assume you’re interested enough in your online business to learn what you need to know.

When I first started building websites, I built my first one for the people and it failed. Without failure we can't appreciate success.
So I got some advice and I would highly recommend this advice to anyone starting a website.
Build a website for yourself, target the website at yourself, your website needs to be about something you have alot of knowledge in and are willing to learn more about.
Once you have built your website for yourself, then you can expand and grow it to fit peoples needs.
Also don't bit off more then you can chew, don't try to build the next facebook or an interactive website that you don't know how to code or anything.
I hope this advice is useful
If you are starting a Website-
1. Research (it will take 2-3 months)
2. Check the Competitors what are they up-to?
3. Design the Best layout (make 2 to 3 layout)
4. Content should be fresh
5. If you don't have time to do SEO outsource it.
6. Do Social Media Optimization
The majority of casually started web sites never earn money, to be a success a site must be a stand out with quality original content, it's easier for a site to make it to the valuable first page of the search result for a specialized niche site, if you created a dating guide or how to make money site you would find it to be very difficult to beat the aggressive competition to the visible search result pages.
Generally it's best to write about something you have a passion for, so you can maintain motivation to continue writing original content on a regular basis, with the search engines escalated effort to detect low quality sites, Content Is King applies more than ever.
I always say if you can solve a problem someone is struggling with than you can create value for someone who is visiting your website.
Think of problems people have that you have a great solution for an create a website that revolves around that problems solution.
I want to start a website and I want to see what the people want and need. Any ideas that you guys have to make a website would help.
