'Timbertree & Co.' is a good name?
Naming a business is important. Assuming you are in business a long time today's cute is tomorrows stupid. You don't want to change the name 3 years in because it doesn't make sense anymore.
There are different ways you can go:
1. Cute. "Edwards axe hands tree surgeon" falls into that category. Cute can make you look unprofessional. If you are an accredited arborist I can't understand you wanting to go this way.
2. Geographical. You live in Gorge County, or your clients do. Call it "Gorge County Tree Surgeons". Obviously limiting.
3. After yourself. Not so popular anymore. "Edwards Tree Surgeon". Makes it hard to sell the business. I don't recommend it unless you are a star or want to be. If you have a lot of friends or a very strong personality maybe the way to go. If, for example, you want to go on the radio and give tree advice this is a good way to go. Your name is the company name.
4. Alliterative. Something that rhymes is easier to remember. A name that justs sounds right but means nothing can work. I know a deck company called "Hickory Dickery Decks". Their mascot is a mouse with a toolbelt. Easy to remember. Means nothing.
5. Business category + "King" or "Dr" or "Mr". i.e. "Mr Tree Surgeon", "Tree Surgeon King", "Dr Tree Surgeon". Why you would do this if you are really an accredited arborist is, again, beyond me. Works best in categories where everybody is the same. "Mr Sub". "Muffler King".
6. Made up. A name that sounds right, or a word that conveys the right emotion or impression of what you represent. "VISA", "Square". Made up words are getting common as ANYTHING that you think of is usually taken when you go to register the domain name.
Good luck.
By the way, I would never let a company with the name "Edward axe hands" anywhere near my trees.
Both the names you suggest sound like something a 14 year old would call a computer game he was making.
I have had 2 separate Tree Surgeons in the last year, each to remove a mature Pine tree (£300 for one, £325 the other ~ nice money for 3 hours work apiece!) but i certainly would not have contacted one with either of the names you suggest. They are just not professional.
TREE DOCTOR
HEAL MY LIMBS
it seems to me that your names are too long.
both just terrible. go for something more professional then that.
I'm starting my own business and I've got a few names in mind but I'm not sure just looking for people's say on them out of 10
I have
Kiss axe tree surgeon
Or
Edwards axe hands tree surgeon ( like Edwards scissor hands ) as my second name is Edwards ?
So what do you think ??
