It depends on what type of website. Try to name it something creative based on the reason for the website. If it is personal site, try doing something with your name, if it is for work, do something with the name of the company.

For small timers the name should say what the site is about, or at lest hint at at, catchy fictitious names require a bit more Branding publicity to catch on.

There are sites with tools that help you come up with fictitious names, including: wordlab.com, naming.net, wordoid.com, lingzini.com, namestation.com, some of these tools look up the domain name availability as you go.

Any name not already used in a .com web site name is probably not trademarked.
