Thanks.
Twizzlers or Red Vines
hi,
i can't be positive about the exclusivity to the us...
frango mints - wonderful yummies, with a variety of flavors
jelly bellies - almost any flavor of jelly bean that you can want to eat
godiva chocolates, ohhhhhhhh 'spensive but wonderful
then, i dunno, reese's peanut butter cups, kit kats, snickers, m&m's, butterfingers, etc... i dunno if they're int'l.
big island candies (out of the big island, hawaii) a large assortment of delectables, try the almond wafer things, they are soooooo good.
hawaiian host also has an assortment of candies, chocolate covered macadamia nuts being a big product (get the whole nuts though they are more costly than the pieces). there are a couple of other hawaiian macadamia nut candies brands, but i prefer the chocolate in the hawaiian host. there's a caramac - caramel and macadamias covered in chocolate.
dunno when you're going, but there's candy corns - i mean, yuck but who else but us would eat them? other seasonal candies like valentine hearts, easter bunnies, s'mores, cadbury eggs, lol seasonal stuff
i bet your host family would be just so pleased if you found them a marvelous little shop with the best fudge. even if they've had had fudge before, i think anything you bring would be a lovely gesture.
if possible, you could ask them if they have any requests, ya neva know, they might want a charleston chew.
have fun!!!
Tootsie rolls are as American as any candy.
i think those would be very costly. You can visit big stores.
I'm going to Central America and I'd like to bring some candies my host family will never have tried.
Thanks.
