Adwords takes skill and time to familiarise yourself with and use. I would recommend hiring a professional. Also this page on adwords for freelancers/contractors may be relevant to you:
Most people looking for services simply type what they are looking for into Google. Using pay per click might be costly unless it is managed carefully, but if done right it should generate some leads. Social media and search engine optimisation might also be an option for you. See http://www.nebstone.co.uk/ for examples of ways to market your business.
Try the local newspaper and I know it's expensive but also the Yellow Pages.
website, yellow pages in telephone directory, chamber of commerce membership, billboard, radio, direct mail, word of mouth, etc
word of mouth: attend Chamber of Commerce meetings, business expos, do training classes, attend Business Networking International (BNI) events, go to political events, send mailings to new businesses that open, put business cards on bulletin boards in laundries, etc
I set up my own accountancy and tax practice six months ago and have tried to generate business by Linkedin and google adwords to no avail.
Would like to know how other accountants or small businesses have been able to generate sales.
Thanks
