I buy a lot from Etsy... it has become my preferred site, but I have also bought lovely items from Ebay. I guess Ebay would attract a wider range of customers. However, Etsy gives you the freedom to take commissions, sell at a set price and advertise your own web site (if you have one).

Ebay has more traffic, but etsy is great too for hand made , and etsy buyers appreciate your work (and a higher selling price) more than ebay buyers
Maybe you could try eBay to start off and if it's successful you could create a store on etsy or bigcartEl
