What's the best way to advertise for free?

Free advertising is worth exactly what you pay for it.

Also, my 12 year old can do those things, and often does. So do many other tweens/teens. Don't expect to make any money.

There's a reason why companies price the way they do - overheads! And that includes marketing, advertising, promotion expenses. If you are much cheaper than average: 1. prospective customers & clients assume you're not good enough to charge even average rates; 2. you go bust in a hurry since you are not charging enough to cover your costs.

Since you are targeting your local market, you need local advertising, flyers, promotions. Does your local paper/Pennysaver/weekly/etc have "business ads" where small & micro- local biz can put a small "not-quite-classified" under "services" or some such, or "business card ads" where they reproduce your biz card? Have you posted flyers at supermarkets, laundromats, etc? Have you asked customers for referrals? Used referral coupons (hand to customers - refer a new customer & new customer gets 10% off first order, and the referrer gets 10% off their next order? Got a way to track referrals?

Free? LOL! You get what you pay for, if you buy wisely.

Congratulations & Best of Luck.

High Traffic Classifieds Blogspot provides one of the the best way to advertise for free

I've started up my own business, making DVD programs of people's photos, adding music, and words. My prices are less than other similar companies. I'm just wondering what the best way to advertise would be? Because it's a start-up I really don't have a lot of money for advertising.
