Who ever answered:
"Since Facebook is losing money from the sharing of the stocks, my best guess is that it's trying to recover via ads. Ads help them get money, and most websites are doing this these days."
doesn't know how the share market works. The value of shares has nothing to do with Facebook's pricing.
It's money hungry website owners. Believe me, I had a YouTube channel with 15K subscribers and was making $200 a month off of it from ads. I now realize that they are annoying so many people including myself are now using Google Chrome's adblock system that blocks advertisements and pop ups. Try it out.
In the coming years the internet can become like the telivision, 60% will be website content and the 40% will be ads!
Websites just want to be paid by the company in which the ad is for. I know it sucks right :/ . It's just all about the money

Money, money, money, that's all companies are interested in. They don't care if it disrupts the users browsing experience, they just care about money.
I got on facebook today, and I noticed that there are now advertisements in the middle of the news feed, which I found to be quite obnoxious. The same kinds of ads now are appearing on youtube; it seems as though every inch of free space on the page is now filled with ads/spam. I'm now seeing this trend on a LOT of websites on the internet. Suddenly, the ads are now virtually the majority of the content on the internet. It was never this BAD before; it just started today (at least that I noticed). What's going on??
