Where can I purchase single item Promotional Items?

You can get a single T shirt/hoodie made, or at least you could, in a T shirt shop at the mall (I haven't been to a mall since the turn of the century, but there used to be at least a couple of T shirt shops in each one). You can get various items of clothing embroidered with a logo. They'll do things like T shirts, polos, coveralls, jackets, and hats.

You can also design your own stationary and print it up. For instance, you could make up a letterhead and put it on writing paper, envelopes, calendars, and business cards. You could design a poster and print it up, too, announcing a new product from your company. Most or all of this can be done on your home computer and printer, or can be done at a professional printer. If you go to hobby and craft shops (like Hobby Lobby or Michael's), they have design it yourself mugs and pinback buttons, which consist of a more or less blank mug with a place to insert your artwork, or a blank pinback button with a similar arrangement.

There's also Cafe Press, for things like caps and such. Many companies will also make personalized pencils, but you do have to buy something like a dozen or so at a minimum. Here's a link to a whole bunch of stuff that can be personalized: http://www.wdrake.com/walterdrake/subcat... . The pencils, as you can see, cost about seven bucks for a dozen.

Edit: Since your teacher does want these things to be professionally made, then go with pencils (if the name of your hypothetical company will count), business cards, stationary, and a promotional poster or flyer. Try to team up with someone who is in graphic design in your school, who can make up the printed stuff, and the two of you can both get credit, the designer in his/her class, and you in yours. And point out to your teacher that you were "networking" in order to get your assignment done. If you can get a mug from Cafepress or a similar sight in time for the assignment, that would probably be good as well. Mugs are frequently given out as promo items.

Look at advertising posters for real life products that are similar to the one that your company is supposed to be making. You can find a lot of vintage advertising material for sale on eBay, so you might be able to get some ideas from them. I found the vintage ads when I was looking for old computer programs, and old fountain pens.

I doubt your teacher expects you to spend money to get actual products made. Just fake it ... buy a cheap item at the dollar store and paint or print your logo on it.

EDIT: Seriously? Wow. What are the rest of the students in your class doing? If I were in that class, I'd be getting everyone together to go talk to the professor and explain that what he's requesting is a financial hardship for most of us.

But if this is really what he insists on, the cheapest way to do it would be Cafepress, where you can order only one of each item if you want to.

Take a look at the handmade promotional bracelets and pens with your company name or website. You can buy from 50 units and are ready to ship in less than 48 hours.

i will say Shoplet. They have promotional production with no limitation for purchasing. check out for more: http://www.shopletpromos.com/

For my marketing class, I need to bring in 5 different promotional items featuring the logo of the company we're "working" for. However, when I go to look online to purchase a certain product (whether a coffee mug, backpack, lanyard, etc), I need to buy a minimum quantity of about 100. I don't want a hundred, I just want 1 product. Is there any way around this?
