For buying in large volumes, Alibaba.com is a marketplace for thousands of different Chinese wholesale suppliers, results can vary, it's probably wise to get some training on buying and importing from China, there is some sort of gold seal that at lest shows they are serious enough to pay a significant additional fee. Just be sure you spell out every tiny detail in any custom design orders, some manufacturers will cut any corner you have not defined. There certainly some things to learn about the Chinese way of doing business and shipping before dealing with them.
I thought of that myself. I searched the net looking for anything and everything to try to make a little money. Then i ran across this video , yeah i know I thought the same thing. I was on unemployment for months. I dont know if you are looking just to sell on ebay or what, but it wouldnt hurt to see this video. I started just making some times 35 40 dollars a day. I finally started making a little more each day. Now after just 2 weeks I'm making any where from 90 dollars to 175 dollars a day. like I said dont know what you are looking for , but if you want you can check this out.

Hope this helps.
What you are describing is known as "drop shipping". You decide what products you want to sell (your niche), e.g. shoes. Google search "dropship shoes" and you get a list of dropship shoe suppliers. Choose a supplier, register with them, (sometimes for a small fee).
You show pictures of each product on your ebay store. When somebody buys from you, you then order that same product from the drop-shipper, give the delivery address as that of your customer. The drop-shipper will then deliver the item to your customer on your behalf. You never see or even handle the product.
The beauty of dropshipping is you never see the product you are selling, you never handle it, you have no storage costs, insurance costs etc. unlike wholesale where you must stock the items and hopefully they will sell.
Flea markets, thrift shops and auctions in your area. Your own garage, attic and basement. Yard sales and garage sales.
Wholesale is the buying in BULK, LARGE quantities to get a good price. If you don't have $5000 or more to buy a LOT Of goods, you won't get wholesale prices.
most people start selling on ebay by selling things they no longer want; many then start shopping at thrift stores, looking for things that will sell well
