And I use Febreze - it works just as advertised. That’s the one product I’ve found that is 100% honest. But it is also legal for commercials to participate in what is called “puffery,” which is saying “we are the best” - even when they’re not. Axe says it smells the best, when it really just covers body odor with even worse chemical odor! And X shampoo can say how wonderful their stuff works, because “wonderful” is in the eye of the beholder - in their opinion, it does work the best. Denny’s can say their food is the best, and leave out that it takes hours to get service.
They can also say "nothing is better,” but that works because people are too dumbed down to notice what that really says is that 100 other products work just as well.
People in general just need to read between the spoken lines of the script, and ALWAYS read the fine print in all commercials. If you’re educated about what they can really say and what they can’t you won’t be bothered about how “fake” they are.

EDIT: I have literally been thinking about this question for the last 2 days, because I wanted to show you something. Here’s a link to a story about a VERY fake ad, how they got called out about it, and how their response led to even MORE attention to the company than they ever dreamed for. Please watch/read this. It is freakin’ hysterical!!!!

Remember when you were little and adults told you "not too watch too much TV"? This is basically why. Television is a fake-land. Everything from the news, to the entertainment, the movies, the shows, and the commercials.
It's fake, idealistic, perfect, "lilly-white" garbage that has a lot more thought put into it than you may think. For example, did you know that companies hire well-renowned psychologists and pay them a lot of money to provide insights into ways to better capture their target demographics? This, again, is why they advise kids not too watch too much television. It fries your brain, and turns you into an unrealistic zombie.
Looking at those nice commercials should give you incentive, to do well in school. Make a plan and stick to it no matter what. Go to college, work a small job, graduate. Then you will find a medium paying job until you get experience in your craft. In the meantime you should be on a budget, putting a good amount of money in the bank. Then you should move up in the company with a nice raise OR some other company will give you an offer with good pay. Continue with your Saving plan for a while. At times it will be difficult, but stick with the plan. Then in time you can go and buy yourself a nice house, beautiful furniture, nice cars for you and you wife. It will be all good if you follow the plan. Good Luck. just wanted you o know that our family lives in a very nice house, with flowers & shrubs out front and very nice furniture inside, 2 cars in the garage. But we both worked all of our lives, saved, invested, sent our 3 kids to school. It was all in our plan. The only thing is our oldest daughter was killed by a drunken driver. THAT was NOT in the plan. We still have our beautiful things, but not our beloved daughter.
Answer your question with another. Why on earth do pharmaceutical companies, who peddle very complex and life changing chemicals, advertise to senior citizens using cartoons? Or worse, show people who take some diabetes drug, who suddenly become mountain climbers who canoe and swim for relaxation?
The truth is that everything on TV is a lie. The news, the entertainment, the reality shows, and especially the commericals. None of this reflects what life is really all about, nor what problems need solving within your life with your limited resources.
They want you to think that if you buy their product, that will be your life.
In almost every commercial you see, everybody is rich, lives in a nice house with the perfect family and has a high paying job. They drive a nice car and seem a little too happy...I am not trying to sound negative, but why are TV commercials so, so....fake!? I understand they want to sell products to people but hardly anyone lives like that in real life...Like those Frebreze commercials... so fake!
