Welcome to the job world. Why do you think a company is willing to pay you if it is not in their benefit?
If you don't like it... get out of it. There is nothing else to do.
I saw this and had to reply, Hi everyone, I work in an office because I have a disability with perthes disease so office is all that I can do.
I hate it because I get on with most of the adult minded people but the majority of the workers there are either childish and love themselves thinking that they'll ware this outfit today to turn some heads and that is their meaning for going to work. The way to get a promotion in our office is to blow all your money socializing with other managers pretending to like each other and slagging everyone else off, and then do that with the people you've just slagged off.
The irony is... most of the managers and supervisors have no money and can't get mortgages because they can't save for bullshiting each other about how cool they are because they've got a higher job. And people like me on the phone who they tell what they think you need to hear so that you don't leave have a house/car, can go on holiday and have a grip on what they want out of their life.
But in answer to your question, I'd trade my disability and work in a job that had some genuine people in it.
My son once told me he could never work in an office in a 9-5 job and so when he told me he wanted to learn to cook, I suggested he walk down the block, go into the first restaurant he could find and ask them if they could teach him. He did and he's been cooking for five years and enjoying every second of it.
Find something you like to do and do it; the money will come.
Why would they pay you if you do not cause benefit to a company?
At this rate you will have no job.
Cuz you're not doing anything there that you can't do from home. The only reason you risk your life twice a day is to appease someones ego, sad but true.
Uh...well paid*
I've just graduated this year but I've been working on the side for the passed two years. I work for different companies in an office and I have to spend most of my time in front of the computer.
I have absolutely no interest in the firms I'm working for but my coworkers are nice and I'm well payed. I always knew how lucky I was to have a job while I was still studying although I wasn't interested in this field.
I work in marketing but I knew from a young age that I didn't have a mind for business and competition. I will be leaving when I saved enough money so I can go traveling and maybe teaching but I'm scared that I will have a nervous breakdown soon enough. I have already shown anger and frustration at work and most people are aware that I don't like my job.
It makes me feel alienated, I don't think it's natural for anyone to stay 8-10 hours in front of a computer and to promote major companies on the web. My only purpose is to increase the companies' benefits and I find that despicable.
