A lot of reasons. I have used a Google image or stock photo because I dont have a digital camera. It could be that the professional images look much better than what you might take yourself. There is nothing wrong using a stock photo but you should mention it is not your own especially if there are differences between your own item and a stock photo. Not all of them are professional. I have seen my own photos show up on Google Images. Unless you copyright them, anyone can use them.
What John said, though in this day and age of digital camera, webcams and mobile phones, I highly doubt there exist many people who fit into that category and are still capable of operating a computer.
I prefer to use a stock photo of items I am selling if there are no visible differences or defects on the item becasue the stock photo's are often better quality and give the buyer a better look at the item than the dark and slightly blurry image I would be able to provide.
I've sold books and videos. I use a stock photo when available because it's simple and fast and probably better than one I could take myself in the same time. That only applies to something in like-new condition, though.
posiibly they don't have a camera!!
Do you ever buy games from sellers who use stock phtotos? Why don't they take their own picture?
